Bloody Fire...Unchaste Desire!

I have been cast in Love Street Theatre's Equity Showcase production of Bloody Fire...Unchaste Desire.

“Bloody Fire...” is a co-production of Love Street Theatre, known for its intimate renderings of the classics and new works, and Opera’Avant, the cutting edge new opera company. Experience Shakespeare in an entirely new way!

Operatic selections based in Shakespeare’s plays ranging from the Baroque to the contemporary intertwine seamlessly with Shakespearean text from favorite works.

I will be performing scenes from A Midsummer Night's Dream as Tatania, coupled with music from Benjamin Britten's opera of the same name. Also, I will be featured in a selection from Giannini's opera The Taming of the Shrew as Katherine.

It's never a dull moment around here, especially at this time of year. I am about to commence my fifth season with the Dickens Victorian Carollers! We have such a wonderful time together throughout November and December, and we always seem to have some exciting opportunity come our way. This year, we've been invited by NPR affiliate station WFUV FM 90.7 to appear on the show Cityscape, hosted by George Bodarky. I will post information on when to tune in for the broadcast and a link to the archive in case you miss it.

I am so excited to share that I have been accepted into the acting studio of Wynn Handman. I will have the amazing opportunity to work with this legendary master teacher in his Advanced Scene Study Course for professional actors.

I am excited to report that I have started freelancing with Erica Moran at Avalon Artists Group in their commercial/print division. Since working with her, I have gotten appointments for several commercial auditions, and I have gotten fantastic feedback from Casting Director Tisha Ioli at Don Case Casting. I also had an opportunity to work with Casting Director Barry Shapiro, from Herman & Lipson Casting, during his Commercial Improv Intensive. That class was an amazing experience! New possibilities, new opportunities, new connections!

I have very recently started an internship with the New York office of Avalon Artists Group, a talent agency representing actors and models. I am looking forward to getting an inside look at this part of the entertainment industry.

Winter Wonderland

Okay, so while New York is buried in snow, I find myself with lots of work to do. All that goes into preparing for the audition season; choosing new rep, coaching, perfecting and then throwing out what doesn't work is time consuming and daunting. However, the feeling you get when you know you've made progress is priceless.

Keep an eye out for a solo cabaret show. Although in pre-production stage, it is still in the works. If you haven't looked at my cabaret videos from this past fall yet, I urge you to view them.
